It\u2019s more than certain that after September 30th inventory which is not associated with MCM won\u2019t serve any ads from ADX.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">Since last year, Google has been rolling out the beta version of the <strong>Multiple Customer Management (MCM<\/strong>) for selected Publishers and Channel Partners with Ad Manager 360 accounts. The idea is to replace Scaled Partner Management (SPM) with MCM<\/span>. <span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">In other words, Publishers will be required to use the <em>MCM program<\/em> when monetizing non-owned and operated inventory in Ad Manager through a Channel Partner.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 20px\">SPM to MCM Migration Timeline &#8211; Key Dates<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color:#ff2450\" class=\"has-inline-color\">June 30, 2021<\/span> <span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">&#8211; the deadline for all eligible partners to contracting to ensure access to the MCM.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color:#ff2450\" class=\"has-inline-color\">July 1, 2021 &#8211; September 29, 2021<\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"> &#8211; SPM is still turned on, however you cannot or should not add new child publishers via SPM. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color:#ff2450\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Sept 30, 2021<\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"> &#8211; SPM will be turned off (exception: child publishers connected to channel partner via Linked Accounts).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color:#ff2450\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Oct 1, 2021<\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"> &#8211; ads will stop serving for the inventories not associated with an MCM parent by Sept 30.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color:#ff2450\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Jan 31, 2022<\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"> &#8211; SPM will be turned off for child publishers connected to channel partners via Linked Accounts.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color:#ff2450\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Feb 1, 2022<\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"> &#8211; ads will stop serving for the inventories not associated with an MCM parent by Jan 31.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"><a href=\"https:\/\/yieldbird.com\/how-multiple-customer-management-is-set-to-replace-scaled-partner-management\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Why Google is replacing Scaled Partner Management program with Multiple Customer Management<\/a><\/span>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 20px\">Multiple Customer Management implementation process<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"542\" src=\"https:\/\/yieldbird.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/0457-ART-31032021-03-1024x542.png\" alt=\"Google AdManager: Multiple Customer Management will replace Scaled Partner Management program\" class=\"wp-image-27667\" srcset=\"https:\/\/yieldbird.com\/research-hub\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/0457-ART-31032021-03-1024x542.png 1024w, https:\/\/yieldbird.com\/research-hub\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/0457-ART-31032021-03-150x79.png 150w, https:\/\/yieldbird.com\/research-hub\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/0457-ART-31032021-03-300x159.png 300w, https:\/\/yieldbird.com\/research-hub\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/0457-ART-31032021-03-768x406.png 768w, https:\/\/yieldbird.com\/research-hub\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/0457-ART-31032021-03.png 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"><strong>To give some context, the change is strictly technical in nature and will not affect the way 3rd party partners (parents) cooperate with Publishers and how much revenue is generated. <\/strong>Publishers who already have their own GAM account will simply need to approve the Parent\u2019s access to manage some parts of their inventory. Publishers who don\u2019t have their own GAM accounts will need to create them (it can be also done through the MCM invitation form, once the invitation is sent by the parent to the Publisher).<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">As an example, in order to facilitate this transition we at Yieldbird have asked our Publishers to share the following information:<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">The company name to be used for the child Publisher;<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">The GAM network code, should a Publisher already own a GAM account (it\u2019s a unique number that identifies an Ad Manager network, it can be found under the \u201cNetwork settings\u201d section of the \u201cAdmin\u201d tab)<\/span>;<\/li><li><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">The email address to be used for this purpose, taking into consideration that:<\/span><ol><li><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">If the Publisher already owns a GAM account, this email address needs to be associated with this GAM account;<\/span><\/li><li><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">If the Publisher doesn\u2019t have their own GAM account, but has an AdsSense or AdMob account, this must be the email address of an Admin user in that account.<\/span><\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">After the invitation has been sent, the Publisher should complete the AdManager sign-in process. Once everything has been done, the verification process might take a few hours, but in some cases it may even take up to 2 weeks. If the Publisher&#8217;s account is not activated at this stage they will receive an email explaining why and what they can do. The Child Publishers\u2019 field contains the account status for each Child account.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">2. <\/span><span style=\"color:#ff2450\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Via the Ad Manager UI:<\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"> Navigate to Admin&gt; MCM &gt; Child Publishers to view the following possible statuses listed here.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">IMPORTANT NOTE: \u201c<\/span><span style=\"color:#ff2450\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Approved<\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">\u201d is the only status that you can proceed with the following steps<\/span>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">The Parent should register the website with the Child Publisher\u2019s network code. This process only applies to web and video partners. Even if you are not planning to use AdExchange for a Child Publisher, you still need to register the site by following this step. If a site is disapproved, it will not be possible to monetize that Child site. This applies irrespective of what demand exists in Ad Manager, including guaranteed line items, Header Bidding, Authorized Buyers, Programmatic Guaranteed or Open Bidding.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">MCM Manage Inventory requires GPT tags from the parent Ad Manager account to be used on the inventory delegated by the Child Publishers, including the Child Network Code as a parameter. The instructions are only applicable if the Publisher is presently using GPT tags on the inventory that the Parent is representing.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">We recommend only testing and starting to migrate Child Publishers that use GPT tags. Ad Exchange tags are not supported in MCM Manage Inventory.<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:50px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 20px\">Transition from SPM to MCM &#8211; Known Limitations \/ Work in Progress<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"color:#ff2450\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Linked AdX Accounts<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">: there is currently no solution for linked AdX accounts, so migrating Publishers should leave their current linked AdX accounts as is. A solution should be available by the time when SPM is planned to be fazed out.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"color:#ff2450\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Delivery Tools with mobile apps (iOS and Android)<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">: Upon initiating the <strong>MCM migration<\/strong>, MCM Publishers will not be able to add a device for troubleshooting purposes in the Delivery tools tab in the UI for mobile apps. A solution is being worked on.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><span style=\"color:#ff2450\" class=\"has-inline-color\">Parent Publishers cannot also be the Child Publishers of other networks<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">: if a potential Parent Publisher receives an invitation to be a Child Publisher from another Parent Publisher, the given Publisher should not accept the invitation as doing so will prevent them from being able to invite Child Publishers of their own via the MCM Manage Inventory.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color:#ff2450\" class=\"has-inline-color\"><strong>You cannot edit the contact email on an existing Child Publisher invite<\/strong><\/span><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">: first select the \u201cWithdraw agreement\u201d button within the existing invite. Then create a new invite for the Child Publisher and the new email address.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 style=\"font-size: 20px\">MCM Impact on Results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:40px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">To sum up, the change should not have an impact on either the Parent-Child relationship or the overall results. However, both 3rd party partners and Publishers should approach the change seriously, as not making the right adjustments may have consequences.<\/span> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>MCM is set to replace SPM in September 2021.
