Why Private Marketplace Deals

A closer look at benefits and opportunities

Higher CPMs with floor prices

Publishers can set floor prices (minimum bid thresholds) or fixed prices for their premium inventory, ensuring higher revenue compared to open Real-Time Bidding (RTB) auctions. By restricting access to a select group of advertisers, they create a competitive yet controlled environment where demand for high-value inventory drives up Cost Per Mille (CPM) rates.

Full control over ads and campaigns

With granular control over who can bid on inventory, the types of creatives displayed, and campaign parameters, publishers can curate buyers and enforce brand safety standards. This stands in contrast to open RTB, where influence over advertisers or ad quality is far more limited.

Stronger partner relationships

Stronger, more collaborative relationships can be built with key advertising partners, such as agencies or major brands. By offering exclusive access to premium inventory, publishers position themselves as strategic partners rather than just inventory suppliers.

Flexibility for high-impact formats

The model allows publishers to offer high-impact ad formats-such as video, audio, native ads, or interactive creatives-that command higher CPMs and engage audiences more effectively. Unlike open RTB, where standardized display ads dominate, private deals enable showcasing innovative formats tailored to specific inventory and audience needs

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Programmatic Deals.

What revenue uplift can I expect from PMPs?

PMPs typically deliver higher CPMs than open market (open auction) thanks to pre-agreed floor or fixed prices and access to premium demand. The buyers are willing to pay extra to get priority access to the best ad placements and additional targeting features. Exact uplift depends on your inventory quality, traffic sources and available targeting options, but it's a reliable way to increase yield on top-tier placements.

Will PMPs replace my current monetization setup?

No. PMPs work alongside your existing setup and focus on monetizing premium inventory more effectively. Open RTB still runs in the background, ensuring no revenue is lost.

Do I have control over who advertises on my site?

Yes. You decide which advertisers can access your inventory, what creatives are allowed, and under what conditions campaigns run. This gives you much more control than open auctions, giving you much better ad safety.

Is implementation complicated?

No. We handle deal setup, demand connections, reporting, optimization and troubleshooting. From your side, it's a standard programmatic setup with minimal technical effort.

What types of deals can I run?

While we strongly advise all publishers to be open to all available deal types, you can choose between Programmatic Guaranteed (fixed price and volume), Preferred Deals (priority access with negotiated, fixed pricing), and Private Auctions (invite-only bidding with floor prices). We help select the best model based on your inventory and advertiser's goals.
