Your Font Size Matters. Better Believe It!

How publishers’ popular Fonts can affect their ad revenue?

The font size on your page can contribute to the user experience, especially if your visitor has to zoom in or out. Most people are around 50 – 60 cm from their computer screens and approx. 30 – 40 cm from their mobile screens. This is important to keep in mind when considering the best strategy for your website. Check how big should be your font depending on the distance from the device’s screen with the SizeCalc.

MAKE TEXT LARGE ENOUGH TO BE LEGIBLE AND APPEALING

The biggest publishers and their font sizes:

THE TIMES: 13.5pt = 18px paragraph

THE GUARDIAN: 12pt = 16px paragraph

THE ECONOMIST: 14.5pt = 20px paragraph

THINK BIG!

Our experts recommend font size not smaller than 16px (12pt) and not bigger than 24 or 26 px (18pt – 20pt) for the regular text (paragraph). Why? It’s not only the user experience that you should keep in mind. Google’s policy on website ads is soon to change, as Google Chrome will block ads if its area exceeds 30% of the entire article excluding headers, footers and side panels.

WHAT IS AN AD EXPERIENCE?

According to Google, an ad experience is the combination of site layout and behaviour, and content and ads that your users are exposed to. All the elements on the website, such as auto-playing video ads with sound or ads implemented on the site, generate a unique experience served to the user. THE GROWING TREND

The font sizes are growing on a rising scale. The readers are less interested in the text and more into the picture. Making the font size bigger, the publisher can keep their attention for longer.
